Delete Your Data

v1 · Effective Aug 17, 2026

This page explains how to delete your SoulDay data or close your SoulDay account. You do not need the app, and you do not need to be signed in, to make the request.

Two different things you can ask for

SoulDay separates them on purpose, because wanting a fresh start is not the same as wanting to leave.

In the app, which is fastest

Open SoulDay and go to Settings. Both options are there — Delete my data and Delete account — and each takes effect immediately. Because you are already signed in, there is nothing for us to verify and nothing to wait for.

By email, if you cannot sign in

If you have uninstalled the app, lost the device, or can no longer sign in, email privacy@soulday.ai and tell us which of the two you want.

Please write from the email address on your SoulDay account, and include the name on the account if you remember it. We will reply to that address to confirm the request before we act on it, so that nobody can close your account by writing to us in your name.

We respond within 45 days, or tell you why we need up to 45 more. We will never ask you for a government ID, a photograph of yourself, or anything else we did not already hold.

What deleting your account removes

Your name, your email address, your check-ins, your soul, your timeline, your weekly and monthly summaries, every message and essay written for you, your saved messages, your location entries, your invitations, your sessions and your notification settings.

Your soul-mate connections end. Gestures you sent that the other person never opened are deleted. Gestures they had already opened stay with them, but the emotional state you were in is removed from them — what remains is theirs, not yours.

We remove your information from our live systems within 30 days, and it ages out of our encrypted backups within 90 days.

What survives, and why

Two records outlive the account, and both are stripped of any link to you first, so that neither can be traced back to a person.

There is also a window we do not control. Google's Gemini service writes your daily message and essay, and Google keeps a copy of what we send it for up to 55 days to detect abuse of its service. That means prompts describing how you felt may exist in Google's systems for up to 55 days after you delete your SoulDay account, even though they are gone from ours. We cannot shorten or clear that window.

If you never had an account

If someone invited you to SoulDay and you never signed up, we still hold the email address they gave us. Write to privacy@soulday.ai and we will delete it. Declining an invitation also ends it, and we do not add you to any mailing list.
